No doubt we are all weary of the COVID catastrophe.  As time has progressed it has been dismaying to witness the deterioration of our society and economy.  In some ways I feel as if our very humanity is being lost.  The way people look at “others” with suspicion and anger, as if they may be a harbinger of disease.  The way neighbours are tattling on neighbours and local businesses.  The way our Western governments have assumed totalitarian-esque powers and citizens have quietly tolerated it.  I am concerned these parasitic ideas will fester and grow, and our sense of community and brotherhood will be lost.  But I digress, last month I wrote about the disregarded victims of our government’s actions – the children, the poor, the small business owners, the

I am deeply troubled by the state of our community and country.  I fail to understand why the crackdowns continue.  Curfews, policing businesses to ensure they are not operating, imposing massive fines on businesses for violating trivial rules, harassing families to avoid spending time together and attempting to shut down our celebrations of life or death are deeply disturbing.  The rational is pure politics - you can’t attend a funeral but you can attend a protest march, you have to quarantine if you travel to visit a loved one, but not if you travel on business.  No rational person can argue those make good sense.

The mere fact that bureaucrats think they can make a distinction between essential and nonessential businesses illustrates that they

A couple months ago we celebrated our Independence Day, which is a secession holiday.  After all, the right to alter or abolish a government and form a new one is the foundation of American political thought.  It is rooted in the idea that the people are sovereign and not the government.

Declaration of Independence captures the essence of what America is supposed to be and the proper role of government in the American system: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that

It has come to my attention that many folks are not aware of Biden’s tax proposals.  Being an unconventional gal, and an economist, I tend to focus on the economic side of issues.  Hence my focus on taxes for the election – especially given the state of the economy.  Not to mention the proposal's will significantly impact the real estate market.

Please know I am not a Trump fan by any means – this is not written to support him whatsoever – this is simply to disseminate and digest Biden’s position as his proposals will be the largest tax hikes in U.S. history.

Below is an outline of the major components:

  1.        Statutory tax rates would increase.  As such, the top individual income tax rate would rise from 37% to 40%.
  1.        Impose a
